It was like trying to think in reverse
[FILTERED to the Silvana]

Is there something wrong with the heating and cooling system? I know we're parked right now, but the engine room shouldn't be that cold.

[PRIVATE]

This is... what, the third private entry?

I still can't believe it happened. I didn't think Mr. Gavin had any enemies, but... there he was, dying in a dark, forgotten alley. That was the scariest moment of my entire life. It's a miracle that he survived, and... I don't want to think about what might've happened if something had gone wrong.

But now, he's blaming Miles Edgeworth! The Miles Edgeworth, his own executive officer and Manfred von Karma's protege! I can't believe it... I don't want to believe it. Why would anyone with that sort of a reputation do something to sully it? Mr. Gavin seems absolutely convinced, though, and right now there's just no evidence either way. The crime scene is already long gone... and all I can remember of it is the blood.

I just wish I knew why. Is it politics? Or revenge for some slight? If Miles Edgeworth really did do it... is anyone even going to believe Mr. Gavin?

[soft sigh] And now the Silvana is stuck in the middle of the Badlands... some Lunasa this has turned out to be.
Under pressure
[and here we have a somewhat breathless Apollo, sounding frantic]

Hailing the Victoria II, is there anyone in there?!

Someone needs to let me through! I have Kristoph Gavin here with me, and he's dying, he needs medical attention right now!

When it's all gone what's left for you?
[PUBLIC]

[there's a moment of silence, then a weary sigh before this part of the post ends.]

[FILTERED to Miss Grants, hard to hack]

I know this might not be a good time, but I have the documents you requested. I hope you don't mind if I give them to you in person.

[The following is OFFLINE, being a shortened summary of the documents given to Tear:]

Now the tables do turn
I found one of those furry things in my room. Is this what everyone's been upset about? It looks harmless. In fact, it looks a lot like a hairball.

... Now I feel sorry for it. Nothing should have to look that bad.

Where'd I put that comb...?

[there's a faint metallic sound, then the hiss of a spray can goes on for a while, accompanied by the tribble purring]

There! Now it's a cool hairball.

Step back and hear I'm calling
This is atrocious!

How could Vohemar let this happen? What did Doma ever do to them?!

It was bad enough they pushed their weight around by allowing piracy, but this-! They've crossed the line! Do they think they can murder so many people and get away with it?!

It doesn't matter that it happened in the Badlands! No one should stand for this! It violates every single notion of our basic rights...

Maybe those war-mongers had the right idea.

[takes a deep breath, then the post ends]

Pocket all the hurt and just stay
Second private entry to the journal of Justice!

... Okay, I can admit it, I'm a little nervous. The Silvana is going pirate hunting. It's not that I'm worried we won't win, not when this ship ranks up there close to behemoth size, but this'll be the first real action I've seen since coming on-board. Somehow, slipping through the halls after a traitor doesn't seem to count.

Come on, Justice! Be cool, be confident! This is the Kill-'em-All Silvana, what could possibly go wrong?

... Except for, you know, killing them all. [audible gulp]

All the bridges you've burned
[muttered] I should use it more often, right? Here goes.

Ahem. First private entry to this... difference engine thing.

A crewman died two days ago. He... fell into the engine, an accident of some sort. The captain also said this was the second time it had happened.

How does an accident of that scale happen twice? I know it's a large engine, but isn't this unusual? ... I haven't spent very long down there. Now I'm not feeling too eager about taking another look, but I think I'd better do it anyway.

This doesn't fit with the Silvana's reputation of safety at all. Unless it doesn't apply to its crew. I'm sure they didn't mention that part in their recruitment ad.
And when the sky is falling
I didn't expect to see that in the paper today.

I take it I've missed something.

[mumbled, so it's hard to discern] I'm serving under a crazed madman?!

[OOC: Apollo had shore leave and wasn't around when the spiders started invading the ship. He'll join up with them again before they take off for the Badlands.]

Pocket all the hurt and just stay
[PRIVATE, easy to hack]
The hard part's over with. I was hired, somehow. I still suspect it was against some sort of better judgment, but I'm not about to argue with my new employers.

All that's left to do now is introduce myself to the crew. The crew of the Kill-'Em-All Silvana.

... Okay. No reason to be nervous. This is only an even bigger break than meeting Mr. Gavin was.

It should be a piece of cake.

[VOICE, FILTERED to the Silvana]
Ahem.

...

Uh. My name's Apollo! Apollo Justice! I've just signed on as a boatswain. I look forward to working with you all.

... There's... not really much more to say, is there?
